Ciarán Walsh (b. 1980, Ireland) is an artist based in Berlin, Germany. His artwork draws upon the visual culture of Romantic art traditions, folk allegory, the esoteric and the supernatural, and applies these mixed elements allegorically to interrogate both the operative power of images and the key emotional infrastructures underpinning contemporary experience. He works through sculpture, video, photography, written fiction, and events/performances.

His artwork has been shown internationally in solo and group shows, including in Kunsthalle Bratislava (Slovakia), MAGO (Norway), the Irish Museum of Modern Art (Ireland), MuHKA (Belgium), Stedefreund (Berlin), Project Arts Centre (Ireland), Ujazdowski Castle CCA (Poland), and VISUAL – the National Centre for Contemporary Art (Ireland). In parallel he has curated a series of art projects in various locations (in Ireland, the UK, and Germany), collaborating with numerous artists, writers and institutions. He previously took part in a year-long post-graduate creative research programme at Bauhaus Dessau Stiftung (Germany).
